Investigate suspicious activity with Cipherstep Agent

A suspicious session raises questions that a decision alone cannot answer. What triggered the finding? Is similar activity appearing elsewhere? Does the evidence suggest manipulation, or could there be a legitimate explanation? Cipherstep Agent gives analysts a way to investigate those questions inside the Analyst Portal, using the mobile integrity evidence already available to their workspace.

Start with an evaluation or a question about recent activity, then ask follow-up questions as the investigation develops. The agent can examine approved device, runtime, and network observations, compare findings, and explore relationships across accounts and sessions. It returns verified public observations, measured counts, and supported interpretations to help your team decide where to look next.

That saves analysts repeated lookups while keeping the investigation grounded in evidence. A shared network or repeated device reference is a lead to examine, not proof of a criminal network. The agent helps assess the available context and its limitations; your team validates the conclusion and chooses the response.

Build the evidence for SAR review

Preparing a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) takes more than identifying a risky session. Analysts need to establish what was observed, which activity deserves further review, and what supports their interpretation. The agent helps clarify the client integrity findings and relevant context, reducing the time spent piecing together the technical side of a case.

Use those findings alongside the Data Explorer’s session history and the reporting system’s investigations and available evidence exports. Your team can compile that material with its own transaction records, customer information, and case notes. The result is a clearer record for an internal handoff or SAR review, with observed facts distinguished from suspicions and unresolved questions.

The agent supports that preparation; it does not file SARs or determine whether a filing is required. Your analysts and compliance team review the evidence, complete the narrative, and retain control of reporting and remediation.

Security & Compliance

The agent’s investigation access is read-only and restricted to the authenticated workspace’s recent mobile activity. The agent cannot access another customer’s data, browse the internet, change risk decisions, or block accounts. Account, device, and network relationships use tenant-scoped pseudonyms; portal identity records and optional user enrichment are outside its database access.

Responses pass through a separate disclosure boundary. The service validates approved fact references and interpretation codes, then renders the answer from reviewed statements. Private telemetry values and internal reasoning are not exposed in the conversation. This keeps the analyst’s answer focused on usable findings without disclosing the underlying security mechanisms.

Chat messages are part of the model’s conversation context, so keep unnecessary personal information out of prompts. The agent works from the platform’s approved evidence; analysts can add sensitive customer and transaction context in their own controlled case-management process.
