Adversarial Networks

Adversarial networks are coordinated groups of devices, accounts, or connections used to carry out abuse. A device farm is one example: an operator controls many physical phones or emulated devices to repeat actions across a service.

The individual sessions may look ordinary while the operation creates accounts, extracts incentives, or generates fraudulent engagement at scale. Accounts and devices need to be assessed in context; real hardware does not establish independent customers.

Examples

  • A rack of physical phones repeatedly registers accounts and claims welcome rewards.
  • A fleet of emulators automates activity while changing reported device profiles.
  • A coordinated operation rotates connections and spreads actions across accounts to avoid simple per-IP limits.

How Cipherstep helps

Cipherstep starts with the environment behind each protected request. Attestation and RASP can expose supported emulation, instrumentation, replay, or runtime manipulation. A farm of clean physical phones may have none of those findings, so investigation also needs the wider activity.

Customer-supplied network context and tenant-local history support review of concentrated account/device activity and new-user velocity. Analysts can inspect evaluations and user/IP histories in the Data Explorer, use Cipherstep Agent to examine findings, and review reports and notifications as patterns emerge.

Your campaign, account, and payout records establish whether the activity violates your rules. Cipherstep does not automatically identify every farm or connect accounts across different customers. Shared networks can be legitimate, and distributed clean devices can conceal coordination; business limits and corroborating evidence remain essential.
