CLI & Agent Quickstart

Give your coding agent authenticated access to the Cipherstep Developer Portal through our native CLI, from the first SDK and Decision API integration to ongoing updates and API key rotation.

Integrating Cipherstep with a coding agent and the CLI.

From first integration to ongoing maintenance

The Developer Portal has a native CLI built for engineers and coding agents. Your agent can retrieve integration guides and API specifications, download the iOS or Android SDK, and create the API keys your backend needs. With those resources, it can work in your codebase to connect SDK collection, protected requests, and Decision API responses.

The same workflow supports maintenance: check available releases, download an updated SDK, update the integration, and validate your app. Your agent can also help rotate API keys by creating a replacement, updating your backend’s configuration, and revoking the old key once the switch is complete.

Security and auditability

CLI access follows the Developer Portal’s permission boundaries. Browser sign-in uses PKCE, credentials are stored in the operating system keychain by default, and the service enforces workspace access and command permissions. An agent operates with the access you grant it.

SDK downloads and API key creation, renaming, and revocation are recorded in the portal’s audit history. Your team can trace who performed those operations and when, whether they came from the portal or the CLI. Revocable credentials and scoped access keep agent workflows accountable as your integration grows.
